Welcome to Lowkey's Privacy Policy. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our services.

Effective Date: 29-02-2025
Last Updated: 05-05-2025

1. Introduction
Welcome to Lowkey. Your privacy and trust are extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy is
intended to inform you about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information
when you interact with our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the
"Service").
We are committed to creating a safe and respectful platform where users can ask and respond
to questions anonymously. This document outlines what information we collect, why we collect
it, how we handle it, and what rights and choices you have regarding your data.
By using Lowkey, you agree to the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree,
you should refrain from using the Service.

2. Information We Collect
We collect information in several ways to provide our services effectively and securely. The
information we gather may depend on how you use Lowkey and the permissions you grant us.
A. Information You Provide to Us When you create an account, you may provide a username
and an avatar or profile image. These details help personalize your experience.
When you post a question or engage in anonymous replies or chats, we collect the content of
your posts. This may include messages, timestamps, and metadata associated with your
activity.
If you contact our support team, we collect and retain communication content such as
messages, attachments, and relevant logs for the purpose of resolving issues and improving our
service.
B. Information Collected Automatically When you access Lowkey, we automatically collect
certain data using cookies, logs, and other tracking technologies. This includes your device
type, operating system, browser version, language preferences, IP address, session duration,
crash reports, and interaction patterns.
This data helps us understand how users interact with the platform and enables us to enhance
performance, identify bugs, and improve usability.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to operate and enhance Lowkey, to personalize your experience,
and to ensure the safety of our community. This includes authenticating and managing user
accounts, enabling features such as posting questions, replies, and chat functionality for users
who opt in. We also use your data to detect and prevent abusive or inappropriate behavior,
helping us maintain a safe environment for all users.
Additionally, we analyze usage patterns to better understand which features are performing well
and where improvements can be made. Your information may also be used to communicate
important updates, account-related notifications, or provide support responses. Lastly, we may
process your data to meet legal obligations and cooperate with regulators or law enforcement
when required.
We use aggregated, non-identifiable data to generate insights into how the platform is being
used. This data may be used for product development, performance analysis, or marketing
purposes.
We will never sell your personal data to third parties. We only use your information in ways that
are necessary for the operation of our services or as required by law.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your data under specific circumstances:
Service Providers: We rely on trusted third-party providers for functions such as Supabase for
hosting, Revenuecat for subscription management, Google Play for payment handling in
Android, App Store Connect for payment handling in iOS, and Grafana analytics. These vendors
are contractually obligated to protect your data and only use it as directed by us.
Legal and Regulatory Requests: We may disclose data if we believe it is necessary to comply
with legal processes, enforce our Terms of Service, investigate abuse, or protect our rights,
users, or the public.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or restructuring, user
information may be part of the assets transferred. We will notify you via email or in-app notice if
such a transfer affects your personal data.
We do not share personal data with advertisers or unrelated third parties without your explicit
consent.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have several rights concerning your personal data, which may vary depending on your
jurisdiction. These rights are designed to give you greater control over how your information is
handled. You may have the right to access your personal data and request a copy of the
information we hold about you. If you find inaccuracies in your data, you can request
corrections.
You may also request the deletion of your account and associated data, or choose to restrict or
object to specific data processing activities. Where applicable, you have the right to receive your
data in a structured, commonly used format (data portability). Additionally, if you previously
provided consent for certain processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, please email us at support@lowkey.fyi. We may need to verify your
identity before processing your request.
We strive to respond to all requests within 30 days. In some cases, especially complex or
high-volume requests, it may take longer.

6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this
Privacy Policy. For instance, account-related data is maintained while your account remains
active. Support communications may be preserved for audit purposes and quality control.
Additionally, certain logs and metadata are retained to ensure security and comply with legal
obligations.
If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data, except where
retention is required by law or necessary to prevent fraud or abuse.
Aggregated, de-identified data may be stored indefinitely for analytical purposes.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies and similar technologies are used to enhance your experience by remembering your
preferences, maintaining session continuity, and analyzing how the platform is used. These
technologies allow us to personalize your interactions and ensure a smooth user experience.
We use both first-party and third-party cookies for various purposes. These include keeping you
logged in across sessions without requiring repeated authentication, measuring how users
interact with important features to improve usability, and monitoring the overall health of the
platform to detect and resolve issues such as crashes or unusual activity.

You may adjust your browser or device settings to refuse cookies. However, this may impair
functionality or prevent access to certain features.

8. Security Measures
We take data security seriously and implement multiple safeguards to protect your information.
All messages are encrypted at rest so that unintended parties cannot access your private
conversations. Data is transmitted securely over HTTPS, preventing interception during
communication.
Internally, we use role-based access controls to limit data access only to authorized personnel.
Additionally, we conduct regular security audits and apply timely patches to address
vulnerabilities and maintain system integrity.
No method of storage or transmission over the internet is entirely secure. We encourage users
to exercise caution when sharing information, even within anonymous chats.

9. Children’s Privacy
Lowkey is designed for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data
from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware of such a violation, we will take steps
to delete the data and disable the account promptly.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data,
please contact us immediately.

10. International Data Transfers
If you are located outside the country where our servers are hosted, your data may be
transferred to and stored in another country. We take appropriate measures to ensure data
protection standards are met regardless of location.
These measures may include Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), binding corporate rules, or
your consent. By using Lowkey, you consent to these transfers.

11. Do Not Track

Some browsers and devices allow users to transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Currently, Lowkey
does not respond to such signals due to the absence of a standardized response mechanism.
We may revisit this policy if regulations or standards evolve.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. We
encourage you to review it periodically.
If we make material changes, we will provide advance notice through the app or via email.
Continued use of the Service after such changes means you accept the updated policy.
